Vanilla sandwich cookies from the 70s/80s

I'm trying to remember the name/manufacturer of vanilla cream sandwich cookies from my childhood. I grew up in the Midwest and I'm 45, so these would be from the late 70s-80s or early 90s. They were a vanilla cookie with a raised dot pattern that covered the entire surface of the cookie; I don't think they had any other imprint on them. They had a vanilla cream filling and tasted very much like Golden Oreos. I thought maybe they were made by Nabisco and were a precursor to the Golden Oreos, but have not found anything in the Golden Oreos history to indicate this. I remember them coming in a red package, but I'm not sure if that's accurate. For a long time, I remembered them as Cameos, but that's not right--- they definitely were round shaped. Does anyone have any recollection of these? They weren't Hydrox, Famous Amos, Keeler French Vanilla Cremes, etc.
