Does anyone has a good vanilla pudding recipe? I've tried the one on Joy of Cooking, and researched many others and found them all to be simliar in theory: add cornstarch and sugar to milk and cook.
But so far my results has either been too gluey, or too slimy, or too runny, and just not right. I am not a pudding expert, never ate much before, but a little boy that I take care of is a big fan of vanilla pudding so I'm trying to make them for him. But so far I'm unhappy with my results. I image pudding to have similiar with pastry cream (which I make without problems), thick, creamy, sweet and yummy. Am I expecting pudding to be something they'll never be?
