Heading to Vancouver soon for a family vacation - wife, 19 yr old son and me. We'll be 6 nights in the West End (Rosellen Suites) and 1 night in Victoria (Harbour Towers Hotel & Suites)
Son is autistic and doesn't do well in formal or extremely quiet places (noisy pubs/cafes/restaurants with great food have worked very well in past vacations).
Another challenge is the differing tastes of son and his parents. It's always tough finding places with fois gras AND chicken tenders if you get my drift. Son likes soups, fries, pizza, spaghetti and the like. Parents like everything, are adventurous, and want something a little better. No budget cap but scratching the elegant restaurants probably knocks off the highest end spots anyway.
Any help would be greatly appreciated:
coffee places (no chains)
Spots either convenient to our hotels or along the tourist trail are most appreciated.
Also, would love to know what foods to try that we don't have here in Washington, DC like west coast seafoods. NO ETHIOPIAN - we already have hundreds of Ethiopian restaurants.
