Valentino's Ft. Lauderdale

Went for the first time the other night and had an amazing meal. Both service and food were exceptional. After hearing the specials and having a hard time deciding what to order (I wish we had more people at the table so we could try more dishes) our waiter made some very good suggestions. We decided to share an appetizer, pasta and entree. When we couldn't decide between the scallop or swordfish dinner, the waiter said they would make the scallops for the appetizer. They brought it out already split (which I always appreciate) and it was wonderful. Perfectly cooked, carmelized on the outside and perfect on the inside. Served with a crabmeat and corn-like dumpling. Our pasta course was cavatelli with an osso bucco sauce. The pasta was cooked exactly the way I like it and the sauce was incredible. Very rich, but in a good way. The swordfish was also cooked perfectly and was delicious, as well. They have a very extensive wine list which is heavily focused on Italian wines. The wine list is pricey, but there are some more moderate choices. This is a wonderful, small and lovely restaurant. I am looking forward to returning and trying other dishes.
