Valentine's Dinner - the day after

AmblerGirl | Feb 7, 2008 03:59 PM

After years of mediocre overpriced meals on February 14th, I was finaly able to convince my husband that we do not need to celebrate V-day on the day itself. So, we are going to celebrate on Friday (2/15) this year. I still think the restaurants will still be a bit crowded, but its a compromise, and I'll take it!

So, does anyone have any suggestions for a good romantic spot for dinner? Because we'd be heading out after work, I'd like to avoid center city for traffic reasons. We are pretty open to anything, but don't want to spend a fortune, so BYO is preferred to keep costs down.

I was thinking either Blackfish or Alison at Blue Bell (even though they now have their liquor liscense, I just learned BYO with $5 corkage) but husband veto'd them both.

I know this is a stretch, but I would love to find a fun fixed price or wine tasting menu (I know that contradicts my request for BYO but if the price of the wine is fixed then we cannot overspend on wine which we often do). I saw Joseph Ambler Inn had a Spanish/Portuguese wine pairing dinner a few weeks backj, something along those lines would be perfect.
