To start with Mango's (Redcliff)is about to reopen. They say in a week, I say not before July 4th weekend. The place looks kind of nice, I hope that doesn't spoil the experience, come on fish tacos!
The Saloon (Minturn or Ginnturn) now has a deck right on the river. The food has never been a good reason to go to the Saloon, but everything else makes it a must stop.
Sweet Basil (Vail Village) keeps saying they are going to reopen (they are doubling in size) in a week. I'd bet they might make August 1st. Larkspur (Vail Village) has a 2 course dinner for $25 and the burger and beer for $12. Also, the Larkspur owner, Thomas, is opening a burger joint in Edwards in September.
Eat! Drink! (Edwards) is getting ready to open Plates on the second floor about the wine store. By the way, I think the wine store has a better selection of whites then reds(but that's just my opinion).
The Left Bank (Vail Village) has a new owners, a husband and wife. He's the chef and she runs the front of the house. Chef is French and his cooking is very good, straight forward French. The wife is very good at working the room and making folks feel good about being there. And they now take credit cards.
And a construction crane has just been selected as the offical bird of the Vail Valley.
