Vace Pizza

Steve | Feb 3, 2004 10:11 AM

I've always trusted Butterfly when it comes to recs, especially in the 'hood, so I figured someday I would get to Vace. But when flavrmeister said it was worth circling around for (to look for a parking space), then I knew I had to try it.
I ordered a whole pie - I don't do slices - and fell in love with the powerful tomato flavor. As suggested on this board, I got toppings of roasted red peppers, onions, and black olives (marinated). The onions are important, the olives lend a nice STRONG flavor to the sauce, and only the red peppers were overpowered so I'm not sure if I could taste them. The crust is leagues above what is generally available with this kind of pie. It tastes like the dough really was allowed to sit for a good looong time.
Carry out only. I ate mine at the student union at AU before a basketball game. If you don't live in the area, maybe another option is UDC.
Butterfly, please don't fly away.
