A group of East Bay Chowhounds are looking to give Bread 'n' Kabobs a thorough scrutiny this coming Sunday, November 9, and you are invited to join. This modest Uzbek restaurant in Concord has been mentioned on this board before but never has it been through a major ChowScrub (tm). Uzbekistan is at the crossroads between the Middle East and Asia. For those interested in halal cooking, here's your chance to taste the cuisine of an Islamic nation that has absorbed influences from Turkey, Iran, Russia, China and India over the millenia, yet the result is more than a melange.

Hosted by Ms. Chowfish and me, this auspicious event will take place at the location given below at 6:30 p.m. Ms. Wong (Melanie) indicated that an uncertain number of bottle from her private cellar would find their way to the event. Send me an email if you plan to attend so that she doesn't under-count us on the bottles!
