I bought some urad dal a while ago, and started to prepare it last night for a dal makhani recipe given to me by a friend. Unfortunately, the recipe was heavy on the onion, and apparently a couple of the onions I had weren't good. So, this leaves me with some (nearly) cooked urad dal (just cooked in water, no added spices, nothing) and no recipe to use them in.
I've searched my cookbooks, as well as some online sources, and haven't come up with anything that grabs me. Anybody have some really flavorful recommendations? I've got loads of Indian spices, any advice appreciated.
