Uptown Juice Bar review

JulesEV | Jun 20, 200509:47 AM     1

Visited the Uptown Juice Bar on 125th Street at Lenox Ave. on Saturday for lunch. What a great spot! They offer a large plate & small plate, each with choice of hot vegetarian dishes. The two of us shared one large plate, with green peppers stuffed with tofu & brown rice; spicy! jerk tofu; stewed pumpkin; and collard greens. On the recommendation of the West Indian woman in front of us in line, we also had a "double" -- a sort of sandwich with 2 small round pieces of frybread, with curried chickpeas in between. All of it was delicious. As freddie, who recommended it on this board, said, the food was somewhat oily but still seemed healthy & definitely tasty. The small dining room in back is simple, with lots of light, and a fun, diverse clientele. For dessert we had a pineapple-apple-ginger juice. To top it all off, the staff was friendly.
