Uptown Grill review, LaSalle

Tuesday evening, we went to Uptown Grill in La Salle, Il. It may be a drive for most, but one we feel is well worth it. Our mesculin, glazed walnut and gorgonzola salad was wonderful and served with a homemade balsamic vinagrette. In the bread basket were (again homemade) french, sourdough wheat, and rye breads and a crispy flatbread as well. For a main course we had a gorgonzola topped tenderloin which was coooked to perfection and served with a very large assortment of perfectly steamed vegetables. The tiramisu for desert was outstanding! We had a nice bottle of Shiraz to go with the beef. Be warned, the portions here are huge! The service is great, the chef knows what he is doing and all of this cost $62.00! So, if your out in the Starved Rock area this season, give Uptown Grill a try. You can't beat the food, service or price.
