Bonjour, all -

for the last 20-odd years, my trips to Paris have frequently included Reminet for a meal. It was always a pleasure when, upon entering, I was greeted by the genial crewcut and grey-haired host (whose name now escapes me) as if I was the most important customer to have ever walked in the door. On my latest visit last year, I learned that he had retired; however, the service was just as genial, and the meal was good, if not spectacular. What I have always liked about was its neighborly feeling - the old couple at what appeared to be their Stammtisch arguing away, the elderly lady feeding the small dog which was nestled in her handbag, etc.
Now I'd like to take 8 friends there next month, and I would like to sound the group, particularly John, ptitpois, and the other Parisians, as to whether my attachment to the place is still deserved.

Thank you all in advance!

Fwahgrah (in North Carolina, and waiting for a visit from Hurricane Florence)
