My update on Dok Bua

The Iron Chow | Jan 22, 2003 09:53 PM

Ok, so I'm continuing my posts about my quest of trying everything on the menu at Dok Bua!

Tried the pad ki mow with shrimp. This is a great dish! It was a little soggy though. I had the pad ki mow with beef before and it wasn't as soggy. Does the shrimp make this dish soggy? Or was it just undercooked?

Had the fried crispy pork. Good average dish. It was like a Japanese tonkatsu with Thai spices.

Pork Larb. Average dish. Wasn't particularly impressed with it. Not much meat. Just a little grounded up pork with veggies.

Had the Sticky rice. Sticky rice again was a little dried up, and looked brown. I've ordered this twice now. Is this the way the sticky rice is supposed to be?

Ordered the Durian sticky rice. Never had Durian before and I don't think I ever will! I know some people love Durian, but it's not for me. Still remember the smell!

For dessert I had the Taro balls with coconut milk. I loved the soft texture of the Taro. I think it would taste better if it was served chilled or cold instead of being hot.

Well that's it for now. Does the catfish taste much better "pet, pet"? I loved it at the regular heat, but someone mentioned the flavor is a bit different "pet", "pet"
