OK, here's the deal: Next month, I'm getting a procedure known as a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, in which one's stomach is surgically reduced. Alas, my years of chowhounding have caught up with me.
But I am not here to burden you all with my medical problems. Rather, I'd like to know if there are any restaurants/dishes I should try while I still can. After the surgery, I will not be able to eat fatty or fried foods or sweets. (They won't kill me, they'll just make me sick.) I also won't be able to eat any type of food in large quantities.
I love to eat just about everything, and price is not an object. If you had only four weeks to eat whatever you wanted, where would you dine out?
(Incidentally, after the surgery, I will have to eat pureed foods for three weeks, so if anyone knows any places that make great soft/mashed foods--again, without much fat or sugar--I'd also appreciate those recommendations.)
