someone's coming to dinner! i wanted to do a brazilian themed meal as i just spent a month traveling throughout brazil.
here's my tentative menu but i am welcome to any advice and additions PLEASE!!!!!
first of all ...i need hors d'oeuvres ideas to have with drinks and music before dinner gets started. any interesting small bite ideas? my only thought so far is acaraje fritters. these are bahian brazilian fritters made from black eyed peas and onions...fried. maybe something on the healthier side?
for dinner i thought i'd do:
red snapper moqueca (a brazilian stew of tomato, onion, peppers, coconut milk, dende oil, cilantro)
some sort of chicken or beef dish for any weirdos who don't like fish.... ideas?
brazilian beans and rice
pao de queijo
a nice salad with greens, hearts of palm, tomato, orange slices maybe, ____what else (or instead)???
a bahian dessert called quindim. sort of like a coconut flan, but not. and some fresh fruit.
and of course... caipirinhas and caipiroskas. :)
