Upcoming Developments at Gelato Fresco

estufarian | Jan 17, 2013 12:17 PM

If you've followed the ice-cream threads in the past, you'll already know that Gelato Fresco is my favourite 'commercial' brand. They also make many 'small batch' special orders (usually for restaurants but also for consumers in minimum quantity).
These are occasionally available at their factory (60 Tycos Drive) - but only during office hours (Mon-fri).

However they've undergone a renovation and are planning to open a more 'formal' retail outlet later this year. In preparation they have already produced a number of small-batch items (some have only a few 500ml cartons - others there's maybe 20 cartons) and the following were available this week when I visited (I haven't tried them all, but already have close to a dozen flavours at home).

Enter through their 'office entrance' to get through to the back 'parlour' which isn't yet open formally - still has a locked entrance.
Cost is approx $3 per carton (right now) - may be slight variation in prices (e.g. regular flavours are not discounted - presumably not to upset regular grocery clients).

Lemon Grappa with Peel
Orange Candy Ginger
