Unusual Banana Concoctions...

It seems like every family has some unusual concoction utilizing bananas.

Nathalie Dupree's cookbook has a fun one: Peel each banana (ones getting brown) then wrap individually in plastic wrap and freeze. Slice into a bowl and top with cinnamon sugar, then pour a little heavy cream (or yogurt) over. The cream freezes almost immediately. Top with a little more cinnamon sugar. Very fun for kids (and adults). Tastes like banana ice cream!

Growing up, my dad sliced bananas and topped them with sour cream then sugar (tasted very good, actually). I like to have a bit of peanut butter smeared on each bite of banana--the sweet and salty combo is great.

What unusual banana concoctions did you "enjoy" as a child?
