I'll be coming to England from NYC the last week of the month. Primariliy to visit family in Bristol, but I will be spending three days in London. I must confess almost zero knowledge of the dining scene in that city, though I plan on trying as many places as possible. My main thing is S.E. Asian food, casual dining, street food and the like. I'll definitely pay a visit to Viet Hoa, but I'd like to try at least one upscale, money-not-an-issue place and am open to suggestions. I'll be staying in Kensington and fear getting stuck at some touristy, blah place (I'll travel anywhere for a great meal). Are there any relatively trendy, innovative restaurants that come without a heavy dose of pretention? The food is more important than the scene to me, though I wouldn't mind a stylish eating environment. Any ideas?
