Need help! unlisted restaurant in Newport/Costa Mesa

linda | Mar 7, 200210:45 AM     7

I hope that someone out there who can help me. I am trying to remember the name of a restaurant I used to frequent from time to time when I lived in the area. It has been many years and it came up in a conversation the other day. Please let me know if this sounds familiar to you.

It is a restaurant in Newport/Costa Mesa on Old Newport Road (Blvd?). It is one of those "hideaway" restaurants - no posted sign, no listed phone number, abrupt waitresses and dark enough inside to barely see your food. The menu had a story about the owner (Sid?) and his run-ins with the law. All very hush-hush.

Does this ring a bell for anyone. I am dying to remember the name. I would also like to know if it is staill open and if anyone has been there lately. Are the prices still low?
