i'll quickly sneak this in and then scuttle back to work:
a new place has opened upon 12th street btn 1st and 2nd, right next to that nice little mini-baltazar, leon. it's an oddball asian fusion place called united noodle and i went there yesterday to try it out. the verdict: pretty darn good.
we had a strange papardelle with corn curry and snow peas, and a simple yet exquisite salad with beets, baby greens and citrus dressing, as well as a charred shrimp dish (2 appetisers and one main between 2 - not exactly filling but certainly sufficient for a summer dinner).
the nicest part was that you could bring your own alcohol, so the whole meal (inc tip and beers from the local deli) cost $35 for two. the interior is also quite impressive - very spacey and kubrick-esque. the owner designed it himself and he's really optimized the tiny space.
has anyone else tried it out?
