"unchowhound" restaurants (sort of...)

This question may prove a tough one, but hoping some of you out there can help me out -- my grandmother is coming to visit for a few weeks, meaning at least several dinners out with extended family. Grandma is most definitely not a chowhound -- preferring a nice piece of salmon and a baked potato most of the time. And she's used to the early bird specials of Florida, so it must be "good value," (even if others are paying) or we'll hear about it afterwards...Any recommendations in VA preferably for that kind of restaurant, reasonably plain but good food, nice quiet surroundings, modest prices...

Thanks for any ideas! I'll be dreaming about ethnic cuisine for 2 weeks...
