What's an unblanched almond?

I'm planning on making an almond and yogurt cake from Aglaia Kremezi's The Foods of the Greek Islands. The recipe calls for chopped, unblanched almonds. Is that the same as raw almonds (with the skins left on)? Or is it a different animal altogether?
