After hearing some good vibes about Ume, we stopped in yesterday for an early dinner. It more than met our expectations.
We started with and shared the Papa's salad, a mix of organic greens, wakame, cucumbers, avocado, all with a special house dressing that was flavorful but light and really enhanced the ingredients of the salad.
DW had the New York roll, combination of cooked shrimp and avocado and also the Carburetor roll, which was shrimp tempura, snow crab, mango and avocado. Both were delicious.
I had The Omakase Sushi which was an assortment of 7 different fish, each with a delicate topping to bring out the fresh flavors of the fish.
Each was pristine in freshness and flavor, didn't have any favorites as they all put a smile on my face.
Service was friendly and helpful throughout the meal.
Ume Japanese Bistro is a real gem, located just 50 yards off 101 from the Central Windsor exit. If you have an urge for Japanese cuisine in this area, this is the place for you.
