Umanoff & Parsons - Tribeca

if anyone's not familiar, this is a wholesale bakery/factory in Tribeca, on Greenwich St., between Canal and Desbrosses . . . really interesting and good stuff; apparently they supply many restaurants but their products are available to the public, cash only, M-F, 9 to 5; had three of their products in the past two weeks and can't wait to try it all; the pear cranberry tart was really excellent and fresh, the turtle cheesecake was a gooey incredible combination and the apple brown betty was moist, spicy and really good. I recommend everyone to check this place out because not only is it good but it's fun to buy stuff directly from the baker; there's no real staff so you just flag someone down who's busy pulling cheesecakes out the oven and they'll be happy to assist. They have an enormous variety of cheesecakes, loaf cakes, brownies, pies, tarts, etc. all fresh, no preservatives, really good and what else can I say? they have a website I believe; and they're worth the trek downtown (and west). check 'em out!
