Ulivo - Dont Sleep Too Long

This is a new Italian in NoMad/Flatiron from the Mercato team. I only had one dish here so far, but quite familiar with the chef and owner with Mercato being my go-to in Hell's Kitchen for a while. Bigger, nicer looking space, and just like Mercato emphasis is on the south, but quite a different looking menu. They dont rest until they find the right ingredients like Sicilian made Busiate for the Busiate Trapanese. Only Lincoln currently has Busiate as far as I know.
Busiate is one of only two pastas not made in house. They imported from Italy this kick ass machine for the pasta lab in the basement. They also got a pizza oven, for you guessed it, fish. They do make two pizzas but I wouldnt go there for pizza.

Chef from Sardinia assembled a very unqiue menu. Much of this stuff you wont find anywhere else. The only dish I had was a doozy... Pasta with crab sauce and a whole stone crab for you to mess around with. Sauce is rich, spicy, and has that distinct crab flavor. A dish you want to have alone or with someone you know intimately. Check it out
