Tyrolean Inn for old-world German/Bavarian (Ben Lomond)?

Carb Lover | Jun 3, 2005 01:49 PM

I just noticed that a recent visitor to Santa Cruz, Robert C, posted a follow up saying that he enjoyed the Tyrolean Inn (see link) tucked away in Ben Lomond off Hwy 9. I've been curious about this place for a while, but the post didn't go into much detail.

The menu looks interesting, and as a carb lover, I'm drawn to the spaetzle and desserts like apple strudel and pancake, as well as black forest cake. Of course, the meat dishes sound satisfying, if not a bit heavy as we head into summer. As I'm wanting to venture into beer, I'm also intrigued by their beer menu.

Robert or others, can you give me more info about the food and ambience? Any other chowcentric places we should visit in those parts of the mountains? Thanks for any info.
