Birchwood's carrot cake just might be the best carrot cake in town. It's rich and carroty, delicately spicy, not too oily, and has a thick layer of amazing cream cheese frosting. You can tell it was made with organic eggs and other quality ingredients.
They don't have carrot cake very often, but I tried it two weeks ago, and promptly ordered a whole cake for a party. (A whole cake isn't cheap - $40 - but it's HUGE and serves at least 12 people.)
Anyway, when I stopped by today for some soup (spicy gumbo - yum!), I noticed three pieces of carrot cake in the dessert case. I just thought y'all should know.
And I would be thrilled if an experienced carrot cake fan could let me know how this version measures up to other carrot cakes in town.
