I have been in Chicago for only 6 months. I have not tried too many of the high end restaurants and the few I have, I have been disappointed. This was of course before I knew about chowhounds. For a special event, I am seeking a restaurant worthy of the money I am willing to spend 50-75 per person- If it's a little more than that I'm OK as long as the food, service and atmosphere were worth it. I have seen the link about where to spend a big wad in three hours and I think twelve 12 was mentioned there. We will have a group of 5 or 6 couples, men dressed in suit and tie and women in evening dresses. Does anyone have firsthand experience with this restaurant? Will this restaurant accomodate our group or is it for more intimate gatherings like Les Nomades seems to be according to their description on Metromix. Is the food worthy of the 16-29 dollar an entree. Does anyone have another suggestion with firsthand experience or reliable secondhand experience as long as for sure you can get a good steak (filet is the best)and a good piece of fish.
