tuyyo-sad but true

This has been a fav. restaurant of mine, however I must warn Chowhounds against take-out at this restaurant. Traditionally I have had excellent experience getting take-out at mexican places.. presentation has been wonderful and sides have been sufficent. I got take-out tonight from tuyyo and was disappointed in portions as well as presentation. Appetizers were slopped into a styroform container with sauce on top. Entrees were tossed into a similar container. The entress had minimal sides and lacked any of the "dressings" that I had become used to as a regular diner. When wait staff saw I was disappointed as I checked out my to-go-dinner they scurried back into the kitchen in hiding. I asked to see the manager who explained to me that this was the way they did take-out (they were limited by their containers) and that I would be better off dining in at the restaurant. He did offer me more beans (take-out was a miserly less-than-a-table-spoon). I guess my expectations exceeded what management was willing to provide a take-out customer. I hope that restaurants understand that our take-out experiences impact our willingness to return as full-time, tip paying customers. As an unfortunate aside, the takeout was awful, including a chicken dish that I paid $14.00 for.. dried out... and the sauce was indistinguishable from the meager beans that had sploshed onto the entree while in transit!! appretizers I purchsed share the same, sad outcome... I can't say the last time I was so disappointed... my loss at $24.00!!!
