Just returned from my first trip. Several food highlights:

Tuscon - breakfast off 4th Avenue. Awesome Mexican food, refried beans, tortillas, huevos con chorizo. Highly recommend. We were told by some not to go there because it is a bad neighborhood. Went during the day and had no problems. Two can eat for $10.

Fuego! - had Thanksgiving here. Excellent food and service. Tried Arizona wine as well which was great. Looked at regular non-holiday menu and it looked good but Turkey Day selections were fanatastic--spouse had a spicy rub prime rib and I had traditional tukey and dressing.

Poco Cosa - I loved it, fresh inventive cuisine. Spouse likes more traditional Sonoran style food, so he was only ok with it. The vegetable salad that comes with each entre is wonderful, and the service is very good.

Phoenix - only had one night. We stayed at La Hermosa Inn and ate at Lon's. Highly recommend! The Inn is beautiful and very comfortable. Lon's was outstanding. We had a pork loin T-bone and veal shank and a very inovative salad with roatsed beets and a light sour cream dressing. Sat by a small fireplace (a novelty for a Miamian). It is not cheap but a great resturant, cozy bar and excellent service.
