I was in Black Diamond and Turner Valley recently and had the suprise of dining at a decent bistro on the main drag through Turner Valley. They had a locally based menu featuring Bowden Chicken and other local gear.
Prices were reasonable, the feature was 12 dollars but only had a little chicken thigh. My dining partner had a tandoori chicken pizza, which was quite good. They had a trout and spinach loaf that sounded great, but they were sold out of.
Service was good, informal but very friendly. Decor was basic and nice and not overkitsched. It's a rare sight to have decent food in small town Alberta.
