My best friend is turning 30 soon and her favourite dessert (she is also pregnant and craving this) is Paula Deen's Pumpkin Bars. For those who haven't made these, they are very cake like and not dense like a brownie.
I wanted to turn this into a cake (note: I have never made a layered cake before!). Can I just half the recipe and bake into two seperate pans (maybe the same rectangle bar pan??) and then put the icing in the middle then ice the entire cake? How does this affect time?
What would you do?
