I impulsively bought 3 turkey drumsticks at the store tonight, because they were on sale, and the legs are always my favorite part of the turkey. However, I just checked all my cookbooks as well as epicurious and cooksillustrated.com and can't find any simple guidelines on how to roast them. I'm sure it's not difficult, but I could count the times I've roasted any meat on one hand (3 of those being Zuni chickens).
I'm looking for just a very simple way to get crispy skin and well-done meat. I like my dark meat falling-off-the-bone done. I think that turkey legs are often braised, and I'm not opposed to this, but I think just roasting them would be easier, as I've got kind of a strange amount of meat. Also, since I want to create leftovers to use in other recipes something simple would be best.
