Tuna Sandwiches have been my staple lunch food for the last few days. I have a bad headcold so I'm going for ease of preparation. I get a good laugh because my four legged chowhound always races to the kitchen and gives me his most baleful look when I slice bread -- his favorite food. The cat instantly appears before the can is open (no explanation necessary, I'm sure.)
I admit that the finished creation is minimalist: good bread, white water packed tuna mashed with mayo, a few leaves of butter lettuce to top it off. I know that additional ingredients are possible -- but it would speed my recovery to hear if any of you get nostalgic over this comfort food, and have any other preferred techniques or ingredients. For that matter, what else do you make with canned tuna?
