Last night/morning after the OKC blues festival we tried a tiny little place in the next block, called Texas Tamales Downtown. four tables inside and one outside. It was excellent. we split the Texas Two-step, which involved 8 pork tamales, the best chicken quesadilla I have ever had (no skimping on butter), very fresh salsa, a large bowl of quite decent beans and really truly outstanding bowl of rice with all sorts of other little bits mixed in, including corn. Happy owners, happy customers. We couldn't believe we ate it all, but once started there was no stopping. There was some discussion as to whether ravenous hunger had any part in our opinions, so will try again without going so many hours skipping festival food vendors in hopes of a decent meal later. Ian Moore & Lucinda Williams were great as expected, gave up waiting for Indigenous, but they come through pretty regularly here.
