Tuesday Group Dining

Bumblegirl | Feb 9, 2006 10:20 PM

I want to round up some friends for a casual dinner and it looks like we might meet on February 28. So, I know about Sneaky Dee's half-price fajitas but out of curiosity, are there any other interesting mid-week specials out there?

I'd like to find a place where having a group is a benefit (such as tapas, so you can try more dishes) and want people to be able to get away with spending under $20 (incl tax/tip). Our group wouldn't be huge, probably just around 6 people; 10 max. Someplace in the downtown core and preferably not Chinese food. A mid-week special would be a bonus.

Some ideas I had: Supermarket, Midtown, Kuni Sushi Ya, Ethiopian House, the new tapas place a couple doors down from Supermarket (I loved the food but find it's a bit pricey), Chinese Traditional Buns, El Bodegon, the Turkish restaurant on McCaul (where Frecklebean used to be), JK Wine Bar.

Any suggestions? I'm completely stuck - personally, I want to go to Sneaky Dee's but I'm not sure if some of my friends will like the grunginess =P
