Tried and True Recipe for a Not-Too-Sweet Cream Cheese Frosting?

ninrn | Nov 17, 201508:31 PM     15

Does anyone have a recipe for a great cream cheese frosting that is really not very sweet at all? I'd like to make a frosting that tastes more like cream cheese than vanilla and sugar. I've tried a few recipes, and even those that claim to be not too sweet are usually very sweet. I know I could just do a trial-and-error method, but I don't have enough of a feel for dessert-making to be able to tweak sweet recipes very well, and cream cheese is surprisingly expensive where I live.

Thank you.
