True comfort food... (imagination might be required)

Ok, many of you might say comfort food is always mother's home cooking but not many people have this luxury. So, I am just curious to what the chowhounds in LA would recommend as their real comfort food. My requirements are very simple. Picture the worst day you ever had, is there a certain restaurant or certain type of food that gets you motivated once again? I am thinking something along the lines of a tasteful delight that removes your mind from all negative energy alike.

So just to give some references, if I had a horrible day at work, there is something about ramen houses that gets me going. Places such as Ramen-Ya on Olympic always seems to hit the spot.

Sometimes I would also venture into Tama in Studio City for their omakase with the paper pot soup or pho 999 for a warm bowl of pho or their lovely bun bo hue to lighten up.

Ok maybe the second requirement must be the ability to walk in easily to secure a table without too much of a hassle. I mean who wants to wait when you are feeling down. Hope this thread turns out good, I am dying to hear from the rest of the chowhounds.
