Four of us went to Truc in the South End last night. For apps we had a goat cheese in a phyllo dough, salad, and a salmon carpaccio. I had the goat cheese and it was awesome. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their dishes. For main courses, I had a dish of monkfish and lobster, wrapped in bacon..another great dish. My girlfriend had the lamb...combo of rare cooked leg and braised leg..I had half and it was great too.The table had another lamb and a pork chop that looked awfully good and got raves. Very professional service; the waiter recommended two excellent wines from the fairly priced list.
Truc is small and I would characterize the cooking as "sophisticated." There is a finesse that goes into each dish. I highly recommend Truc for someone seeking a fine dining experience ina romantic setting.
