Do I Tru-ly miss Hakka!!!!

You bet I do!!!!

Was never really a big fan of those noodles with pumpkin at Hakka but worshipped the delicious and plentiful lunch specials. Couldn't resist checking out the new restaurant that now occupies its old quarters, Do I Tru (41-28 Main Street).

Unfortunately about 90% of the menu and ALL of the specials were in Chinese and I didn't have the luxury of having my Mandarin and Cantonese-speaking buddies with me.... In my limited Mandarin I asked the friendly waitress to prepare my friend and I three yummy (HUNG HOW) dishes. She returned soon after with thick, chewy Shanghai noodles sauteed with pork and little bits of cabbage (very tasty, nothing to go gaga over....) a dish of pork chops with lots of coarse salt and what tasted like five spice powder (nothing I'd order again...)_ and a plate of bean curd with green beans (very bland). The service was pleasant and the food was decent but it was very non-descript.

Rumor has it the lovely gentleman who owned Hakka might be opening a place up farther on Main near East Lake.... Hmmmmm...I'll let you know if I hear anything....
