So, after feedback and reading lots on these boards I had a trip to DC with some good eats. Here is the quick rundown:

Proof - I had lunch here alone at the bar. The butternut squash soup was just OK, and the lamb burger was really yummy. But those chickpea fries are the star. They were amazing!

Cafe Atlantico - I loved it here. The menu rocked, and food was truly amazing. Foir gras appetizer, and beef cheek entree with passion fruit jalapeno martini. My server was nice, but seemed rushed and I wanted to know a bit more about the food and highlights.

Raku - I used to live in Dupont and always went to this spot. Some people have hated on it pretty hard. It is busy and the service can be just OK. But our dinner was super good for all three of us, and our server was really friendly and great. I think it is a fun cheap spot, and I keep going back when I visit for some reason...

Hank's Oyster Bar - I loved this little place. All my food was great. Friends who came to visit went another night after I had gone alone and they loved it too. Go with anything fried and you will be one happy camper.

Asian Nine - This place just opened and looks pretty, but food and service were both a let-down for me.

Rasika - My favorite stop of the whole visit. I loved the space, the server and most importantly that amazing food. We had three appetizers and three entrees and shared. Every single dish was a big winner in my book. The fried spinach and the chicken makhni were the two highlights though. Mmmm....
