Just returning from my first trip to the Bay Area and I hope it is not my last. Thanks to everyone's wonderful suggestions I had a fantastic trip.
San Francisco has some fanatic restaurants- here are just a few I visited. Bar tartine is a great place to visit if your looking to share some small plates- the smoked potatoes are to die for and service is great, wonderful atmosphere. Both Nopalito and Nopa are fantastic. Empanada and duck enchiladas were my favorite- great flavorful sauces!! Made it to brunch at nopa on a Sunday and can safely say it is the best brunch food I've ever had. We didn't have reservations but got there around 10:15 and waited in line until they opened at 10:30 and scored a place at the bar. Fantastic Bloody Mary and butter basted eggs- delicious
, highly recommended. Also visited Barbacco- another great spot in the financial district. Great service and even better food- get the duck fat fried Brussels sprouts!! Alembic is a great bar spot if you're in the Haight neighborhood. Drinks are unbelievable as well as their food selection.
While in Napa we had dinner at Zuzu our first night- very cool atmosphere and delicious tapas. Had dinner at Redd the next night in Yountville which was also amazing- I had the seared duck breast - sauce so flavorful and duck was cooked to perfection.
I also cannot recommend Frogs Leap winery enough!! Best experience, amazingly beautiful grounds/gardens, and fantastic service.
Needless to say I had a fantastic trip, you really can't go wrong in San Francisco
