Trip report of a short and sweet visit to Montreal

prima | Jun 13, 201507:32 AM

Dinner at Brasserie Central at the corner of Sherbrooke and Victoria. This was my second visit to Brasserie Central. http://www.brasserie-central.com/fr I enjoyed the very generously portioned watercress salad, as well as the risotto of the day, which was a lobster and tomato risotto. Friendly service, and nice atmosphere.

Cappuccino at Cafe Myriade on MacKay, my favourite coffee shop downtown. http://www.cafemyriade.com/wp/

Iced latte (made with Illy coffee) at Le Cartet in Old Montreal http://lecartet.com/, while walking around Old Montreal.

Dinner at Laloux. http://www.laloux.com/index.php/en/ I hadn't visited Laloux in 4 years, but I am glad I returned. Enjoyed an asparagus carbonara (raw asparagus), and arctic char with nordic shrimp salad. I was happy to see the passionfruit and basil Poptail is still available. Will definitely return.

Breakfast at Bistro L'Enchanteur, http://www.bistrolenchanteur.com/menu... thanks to this reply from 2009:
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/6393... , which is near Jean Talon Market and open for breakfast at 8 am, where I tried the crepes florentines. Surprisingly nice fruit salad, containing at least 8 different fruits and berries. Charming, quaint place with friendly service and good prices.

Picked up some natas at Jean Talon Market, to bring home to Ontario.
