We had a great time eating in your city and already miss a couple of the spots

Mistarl kitchen- We had our anniversary dinner here and for the most part was a pleasant experience. we had the following:

Tomato and beet salad- I am not a beet fan, but I really enjoyed this salad. It came with the most delicious goat cheese and pistachios and a few different shape and size of tomatoes.

Prawns- It was a rustic dish with squash and blood susage and the shrimps were cooked just right.

Foie Torchon- This tasted like butter to me and it came with some kind of berry jam. What it needed was some kind of fruity bread to go with it.

Rbeye- It was very, very good and it came with arugula and delicious fingerling potatoes.

Smores- It was basically chocolate ice cream between graham crackers and a little torched marshmallow dome. I know that they have a new pastry chef and I felt like the dessert was too rustic and simple for this restaurant.

Service was great and our server mario took care of us.

Cafe Presse- I choose this place because of a blogger loving their Chocolate Chaud and it did not dissapoint. This was even better than the ones we had in Paris It had an amazing aroma. I aslo enjoyed the very tasty Pain au chocolat à l’ancienne. Basically, very good dark chocolate melted on baguette”. I had a chocolate coma after that and we walked all the way to the volunteer park to burn it off. We also had their baked eggs with cheese and ham and it was pretty good, but on a small side.

Pike Place Chowder- We tried the classic, smoked salmon, seared scallops and seafood chowder. They were all pretty good.

Le Pichet- After taking the ferry to Bainbridge island and back and considering it was labor day, we settled for this place. We just had a prawn salad with bulgur, cucumber and almonds and some other salad with lentils and a very bland Lyonnaise Sausage. I told the bartender we started our day at Cafe Presse and ended it here and he said Le Pichet is better. I liked the feel of Cafe Presse better.

Dahlia Bakery- We had chocolate & pistachio croissant, ham n' cheese croissant and a whole wheat danish that turned out to be a goat cheese and tomato. The ham and cheese was Ok and lacked the flakiness of a croissant and the Choco and Pistachio was a total dissapintment. It had a little chocolate and a little pistachio. I would skip this bakery.

salumi- We had the porchetta sandwhich and I bought a half a stick of mole salumi. The porchetta was very tasty and a little fatty and We really love the mole salumi. I can't believe the lines at this place, never ending. The staff was very friendly.

Fuji bakery- This palce was great. After Salumi, we walked to this place and I was surprised the place was not packed. I checked out the Pain AU Chocolat first and was concerned about how dark the top was, But after we tried it later on, it was just perfect. Great flakiness and delicious chocolate in a middle with the right amount of butter. We also Really enjoyed the Kouign Amann. This version was very close to the one we had in Paris. The next morning we had a chocolat orange pastry and the peach tart and they were still good the next day. I was very tempted to go back to this place on the way back to the airport!!

The Book Bindery-
We had a nice dinner here and it was nice that they offered a sparkling lime, coconut water drink with a nice pepper kick called El Guapito. I had the pork belly and watermelon appt that was fine. I actually enjoyed the watermelons more than the pork belly.My Husband had the white Gazpacho with crab and grapes and I really enjoyed this vey much. We also had the Scallops with bacon jam that was cooked nicely and the Cavatelli with mushrooms and Foie emulsion. I felt the foie was kind of light and the portion on the small side. We finished with the almond financier with strawberries that was fine. Our waiter was very stiff and the whole staff was cold and not friendly.

Stika and Spruce- By far our favorite meal of the trip. I just wish that we had a place like this near us. I was so surprised how much I enjoyed everything and was ready to move across the St, So I could eat here all the time. We started with their yogurt with cucumbers and nectarines. It was an interesting combo that I plan to create at home. We usually eat yogurt with fruit or cucumber but not both. We then had their loxed black cod with radish that was pretty good. The star dishes were Foul Medames and their trout. I could not get enough of the Foul M. It is basically mashed fava beans wth perfectly boile egg and japanesse roasted peppers. It was heaven in our mouth, So delicious. The trout was the best trout we ever had and it came with really delicious roasted pepper and other things. The srvice was super friendly and we didn't want to leave this place. We spotted Matt D and talked to this very nice lady that I think was the manager. You are so lucky to have such great, creative place and I even told them if they had a cook book I would buy it.

Blue bird ice cream- It was fine. I enjoyed the chocolate pudding and peanut butter. My husband had the chocolate chunk and ginger.

Marie Freres- Oh, the best chocolate shop outside of Paris. This place should be across the st from me, not in Seattle. We sampled some stuff and got the most delicious chocolate pop ever. You should all run to this place and try this. It is basically made for them in the Mistral Kitchen. It is a square piece of passion fruit and coocnut ice cream dipped in the most delicious dark chocolate and it had some crunchy nuts or something on the top. We also purchased their amazing chocolate Macaroons. This is better than the ones in Paris, such a delicious ganache. Also got a few of their chocolate squares and they were all great specially the one with orange peel. I loved the French owner, Samples work!!

We ended our day at The serious pie for their happy hour befor heading back to the airport. We tried the sausage pizza that was good and the truffle mushroom pizza that was very bland.
