We spent 4 days in New Orleans over Easter, and had a wonderful trip. We stayed in the Marigny and loved the area. I had made 2 lunch reservations and 2 dinner reservations in advance. The lunches were at Coquette ($20 menu) and Bayona ($25 menu) - both were excellent and we enjoyed all our courses. Dinners were at Boucherie and Cochon. Again, both excellent choices. All of the restaurants were busy and I was glad that we had made reservations. I'd go back to any of them again!
One evening, we enjoyed eating a few small plates at the bar at Three Muses on Frenchmen Street while listening to Glen David Andrews. (Drinks were good too.) Another evening, we just picked up a muffaletta at Central Grocery and sat on our little porch sharing our sandwich. (Dessert was a praline and we both decided that we aren't praline people - just way too sweet.) On our first day, we had a huge lunch (way too much food) at El Gato Negro - food was better than I expected and the margarita was wonderful. Of course we had beignets at Cafe du Monde one afternoon - not bad (but I loved the ones I had at Coquette with my lunch there).
Too many choices and not enough time!
