My husband and I will be driving to Memphis from Central Florida in a few days, by way of I-75, across to Birmingham, and then US-78. We will be driving straight through (14 hours?) so for the route are really looking for just a couple of recommendations for dinner en route (and back). We found Richard Blaise's Flipburger Boutique listed on the Birmingham section so are thinking of trying that.
We are also looking for good, inexpensive, southern or American food in and around Memphis for the 4 days we'll be there (breakfasts, lunches, and dinners). BBQ is a definite - I think we've selected Central BBQ, based on posts here. What else are the "musts" in town -- like when we get back home, and say we've been to Memphis, what will people say we must have eaten, or must have visited? We likely won't be returning for some time, so don't want to miss out on any important tastes.
Thanks for any help!
