Trip to LA

Xirus | Mar 28, 201202:09 PM

I'll be in LA for on an upcoming Monday and Tuesday afternoon/evening and am looking for some food, mostly lunch, suggestions. I'm really into the hot spots, but not overly sceney, places in NYC. Think Buddakhan if you've ever been here but Tao or Lavo are too much of a scene - small difference I know. I'll be staying around Santa Monica and would like to get as much beach view time in as possible as well.

What kind of lunch spots would you recommend with a view? Are there any good Mexican lunch spots around? And lunch spots in general.

Also, on Monday I'm thinking of either Animal or ink. Good choices? Which one would you choose?

For Tuesday, I really want to try The Bazaar, but am a die hard Mexican food lover. Is Boarder Grill any good? Comparable to Rosa Mexicano or Dos Caminos in NYC?

Also, what would be a good place to get a drink or two before dinner in LA? If I go to the Bazaar, I feel like I'll spend the whole time there. If not though, what else is good? I heard Nic's?
