okay, finally got around to trying this place.

like several other ethnic joints around town, this one is unfortunately just another passable place to satisfy an emergent craving.

went for the meat sampler, which is a choice of 3 of the following: jerk chicken, jerk pork, curry chicken, stewed chicken, or oxtail stew ($13.95). comes with red beans & rice. i opted for jerk chicken, curry chicken & the oxtail. portions were generous - big drumstick & thigh of jerk chicken, 4 decent thighs of the curry chicken, 4 pieces of oxtail and a big pile of rice. unfortunately, they threw this whole mess into one container with no dividers.

like others have mentioned, most things are not bad, but taste like leftovers, and this was the case with my experience too. fortunately, i brought it home which allowed for some doctoring to save face.

the chickens were cooked well, and slipped clean off the bone, but lacked the kick i was looking for. just subtle curry flavor and while the jerk had decent flavor, i prefer it far stronger than what it was. on the other hand, oxtail was well-seasoned, but could've been cooked longer for textural purposes as well as to completely render the fat (and get that marrow moving). it also didn't have much of the stewy sauce, but maybe the rice soaked that up. oh, their hot sauce is fiery. make sure to get it, but use sparingly (i didn't and got burned).

this def'y won't be a regular, but in those dire needs of a fix i might go back. also didn't try the rotis which very well may be their strength.
