Tribute Strawberries from Ridgeview Farm in Alexander Valley [Healdsburg - Sonoma County]

Melanie Wong | Aug 30, 201511:02 PM

Wednesday morning I bought Tribute strawberries from Ridgeview Farm at the Santa Rosa farmers market at the Wells Fargo Center. This was a new variety for me. The grower said that these were from one-year old plants and bear over a long season with small-medium size fruits.

These had good intensity of flavor set off by bright acidity. Hard to judge their sweetness level given the acid level. They're red to the core without pulpiness. We enjoyed them.

I also bought what was labeled as an Elberta peach from Ridgeview. It was a nice peach, but not an Elberta. It turned out to be a clingstone type with firm flesh lacking the juiciness of Elbertas.
