Tribeca Friday--request from visitor for "something that stands out"

Miriam | Sep 2, 2003 08:23 PM

California relative in town and staying at the Millenium Hotel near Ground Zero. I'm at a loss--she is dining at Nobu one night and afraid that she'll be hungry later (because it's Asian), originally sugggested Juniors for dinner, loved the food at the Vegas Emerils...my suggestion that we walk to Chinatown was met with silence. Ditto my suggestion of Le Zie as an alternative to her request for Little Italy Italian. Then she said--how about Tribeca? Tribeca Grill? Spanish? So--anyone been to Azafran for Tribeca tapas? Any other Tribeca suggestions that won't cost me an arm and a leg (she can do Nobu; I'm unemployed...) Or any other Tribeca "that stands out" at less than Chanterlle prices? Thanks.
